MATRIX VISION announced interoperability between its GenICam-compliant cameras mvBlueCOUGAR-X (GigE Vision)mvBlueCOUGAR-XD (Dual GigE Vision) as well as mvBlueFOX3 (USB3 Vision) and ActiveGeni, a GenICam based camera SDK developed by A&B Software.

MATRIX VISION is one of the first manufacturers to consolidate the drivers for USB3 and GigE Vision cameras into one GenTL producer which is called mvGenTL_Acquire and available for both 32- and 64-bit systems. By utilizing the producer, ActiveGeni SDK provides a universal access to MATRIX VISION’s cameras and allows developers and system integrators to facilitate a rapid application development in a number of popular programming environments including Visual Studio, Visual Basic (VB), Delphi, PowerBuilder, Java, Matlab, Python, Labview.

“It has always been our credo to support industrial standards and to play an active role in their development. They improve the machine vision market, enhance the prestige of the image processing industry and make the whole camera range more unified to customers. A pleasant side-effect of this is that as long as an imaging software product supports a camera standard, as is the case with ActiveGeni SDK, customers can use it without any additional software modules”, says Horst Mattfeldt, Product Director of MATRIX VISION.

“An SDK based on the GenICam Transport Layer makes it even easier for an end-user, as an application developed with such an SDK will support a wide range of GenICam-compliant cameras out-of-the-box regardless of the interface technology. The interoperability between ActiveGeni SDK and MATRIX VISION’s USB3 and GigE Vision cameras clearly demonstrates this advantage”, says Boris Nalibotski, President of A&B Software.
