Bene prelaunched during the “Confession of Design” exhibit in Milan: The international office furniture expert presented an innovative setting for modern teamwork, the new TIMBA table combined with the Bay Chair, both created by the PearsonLloyd design studio in London.

Under the name “Confession of Design”, an exhibit of contemporary design “made in Austria” was being held in Milan at the same time as the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the most important furniture trade fair in the world. Every spring, Milan becomes the epicentre of the interior design world; approximately 300,000 visitors are drawn to the Italian hub of creativity.

The creative exhibition “Confession of Design” highlights inventiveness, precision craftsmanship and a technological edge as the common elements uniting “made and designed in Austria”. “Confession of Design” paid homage both to design per se as well as Austria as the embodiment of ecological responsibility and a high standard of living. For the fifth time, AUSSENWIRTSCHAFT AUSTRIA, supported by go-international and the Austrian furniture industry organised this showcase of the country’s creativity. “Confession of Design” were held at the Rotonda della Besana last 8-13 April 2014 , a former church from the early 18th Century in the Via Enrico Besana 12.

Foretaste in Milan: Bene’s TIMBA Table

As part of this group exhibition Bene presented a new type of table for the first time: for team work, meetings and informal get-togethers. The TIMBA Table surprises with solid oak as the distinctive material and an aesthetically and functionally clever swivel plate, which permits easy access to power and the network. Pleasant and welcoming, the TIMBA Table is the focal point of a team and its many different activities. In combination with the Bay Chair this furniture set designed by the well-known London studio PearsonLloyd, the TIMBA Table forms an emotional counterpoint to common system furniture.

The Bay Chair is a hybrid swivel chair-armchair for collaboration and meetings. It automatically adapts to changing users, and is an ideal solution for flexible work styles. Its soft design (PearsonLloyd) brings a human touch and emotion into the office.

Special location: Rotonda della Besana

The exhibition site for “Confession of Design” was the Rotonda della Besana, a former church from the late 18th century built in the late Baroque style. The historical structure stands in a small park surrounded by an arcade. In Milan, the Rotonda della Besana is well-known as a site for events; this location has featured presentations by internationally famous artists and designers such as Karl Lagerfeld.
