Handling Line: Efficient Work Preparation and Setup Process Optimization in One

Work preparation and setup are critical factors for ensuring efficient production. HAINBUCH’s newly introduced Handling Line goes beyond traditional setup technologies, serving as an innovative system for storing, transporting, and setting up clamping devices. This system not only simplifies the setup process, especially for small batch sizes, but also optimizes aspects such as the storage and transport of clamping devices before and after setup. The entire system seamlessly integrates into the workflows of users utilizing the centroteX quick-change interface.

Comprising the Setup Mobile, a mobile crane for transporting and assembling clamping devices, and the monteq changeover device compatible with the Setup Mobile, the Handling Line is complemented by accessories for storage and transport, including a pallet with clamping device holders, attachment frames, and covers.

Flexible Manufacturing Without an Overhead Crane

Even without an overhead crane, the Setup Mobile, an evolved mobile crane and the core of the Handling Line, facilitates swift clamping device changes in any production hall. Due to its compact size, equivalent to a Euro pallet’s surface area, and a turning radius of 1.7 meters, the Setup Mobile can directly approach any machine, enabling front loading regardless of door openings. Safety queries ensure a stable position before the actual setup process begins. The Setup Mobile’s boom arm, consisting of four interconnected segments via a joint, can tilt 10 degrees to the side. This feature allows precise and flush positioning of the clamping device, even on hard-to-reach spindles. After the changeover, the Setup Mobile aids in loading heavy workpieces into the machine. With a load capacity of 120kg, the Setup Mobile can handle almost any clamping device combination. In a three-shift operation with three changes per day, the battery for the electric operation of the swivel arm and winch lasts approximately one week.

The preparation of clamping devices for setup can occur independently of the machine’s location, providing users with more flexibility in work preparation and the ability to enhance flexibility in the manufacturing process.

A monteq changeover device can be mounted on the winch of the Setup Mobile. This assembly aid enables sensitive changeovers for consistent precision and short changeover times for centroteX clamping devices. The clamping devices are secured during the setup process via a quick-release bolt. Built-in spring packages prevent tilting of the clamping device and negative force transfer to the spindle. The swiveling holder of the changeover device simplifies alignment and locking, facilitating an ergonomic and rapid clamping device change, even for large and heavy clamping devices, without causing impacts or damage to the spindle.

Storage and Transport Considered

The Handling Line encompasses the entire setup cycle, including storage and transport. Clamping devices can be safely and securely stored on a pallet, with each pallet the size of half a Euro pallet. The pallet is placed securely on the Setup Mobile’s storage area. The palette can be extended with stackable attachment frames and covers. This setup protects the clamping devices from dust, contamination, or damage, ensuring their precision is maintained after numerous uses.

For HAINBUCH’s centroteX clamping devices, the Handling Line includes precisely fitting clamping device holders. Firmly mounted on the pallet, these holders prevent clamping devices from falling or tilting during transport. Standard-sized pallets can securely and precision-preserving store and transport two clamping devices, while smaller adaptation clamping devices can accommodate up to three on each pallet. Clamping devices can be directly removed from the pallet using a changeover device.
