It is with great pleasure that heimatec GmbH, based in Renchen, Germany, is preparing for the EMO in Hanover. The precision tool manufacturer will be exhibiting there for six days from Sept 18th – 23rd 2023 at the world’s leading trade fair for production technology in Hall 5 Stand D33.

After the long contact-reduced period, the company is finally expecting a lively personal exchange with trading partners, customers and interested parties worldwide again and is therefore using the platform of the in-person trade fair.

In addition to human communication, heimatec has also worked intensively on tool communication in recent months and is presenting icosen® at the EMO. icosen is the newly developed sensor unit for tool units from heimatec, which is currently undergoing final field tests. Whether temperature, speed or vibrations, all measurement data can be displayed either live or retrieved from the memory on the sensor. With this measurement data, better process monitoring, process optimization and hence predictive maintenance of the tool units will be possible. At the same time, the sensor stands out from the crowd of sensors due to its one-of-a-kind self-sufficient energy management. Due to the combination with a standard protocol stored data can be shared with multiple external devices & receivers, no additional effort is required from the machine operator to integrate the sensors.

A completely new tool unit for thread whirling on sliding headstock lathes was developed and is planned to be launched on the market in spring 2024. heimatec has developed a tool for the production of high-precision threads, which impresses with its high pivot range, the high surface quality of the workpiece and the time-minimized rear insert change (“quick change”).

Another highlight on display will be a wide range of tools suitable for series production with the new pti (polygonal turning interface) interchangeable interface, submitted for standardization, in all pti sizes available, enabling an increase in quality and productivity in turning operations.

All three innovations will be presented centrally around the young tree at the trade fair stand, which symbolizes the continuously growing and technologically developing precision tool manufacturer, but also reflects the corporate values of sustainability and natural regionality.

The innovations are framed by numerous live tool units and static tool holders from the extensive product portfolio of heimatec GmbH. Here, a selection of most common tools and units is presented, which are in use on machines of well-known machine manufacturers worldwide. Product innovations such as higher-speed tools with a speed of up to 15,000 rpm (Gear ratio 1:1) and high pressure of up to 100 bar or, depending on the tool type, up to 140 bar. Speed increasers with a speed of up to 48,000 rpm (Gear ratio up to 1:4) or tool holders with a wedge style clamping system are not to be missed.

In addition, the trade fair exhibitor will present its exchange systems heimatec.easy-quick HT, heimatec.u-tec® UT, and heimatec.CaptoTM so that visitors can see and test the differences and individual advantages of the various systems on site. In addition, several tools for use in sliding headstock automatic lathes by heimatec.SwissTooling product group can be found in Hall 5 Stand D33.
