GEMÜ’s butterfly valves, namely the R480, R481, R487, and R488 models, have recently obtained NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and DVGW certifications. These certifications confirm that GEMÜ, the valve specialist based in Ingelfingen, offers products suitable for use in drinking water applications.

For the GEMÜ R480, R481, R487, and R488 Victoria butterfly valves intended for drinking water applications, customers have the option to choose between the American NSF approval with the “N” special function or the European DVGW approval with the “D” special function.

Moreover, the NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 certification covers all products that come with liner code W combined with stainless steel disc code A, B, and D. Similarly, the DVGW certification applies to all products featuring liner code W in combination with stainless steel disc code A, B, and D, along with the “D” special function.

To ensure the quality of the seal in the GEMÜ 480 and GEMÜ R480, it has been thoroughly tested according to both the previous Elastomer Guideline and the newer KTW-BWGL standard. The KTW-BWGL standard underwent its third revision in March 2022, and a transitional period has been established until March 2025, after which the old Elastomer Guideline will be phased out.

With the GEMÜ R480 Victoria series, GEMÜ offers its customers peace of mind for future projects extending beyond the transitional period. This ensures a long-term supply of suitable butterfly valves for their needs.
