Walter is launching the new Walter X-treme Evo Plus drill bit, a new tool in the DC180 Supreme product family. The Krato-tec™ coating technology specially developed for drilling tools gives the solid carbide drill great market potential. This is because Walter’s own grade WJ30EZ with AlTiN multilayer coating enables the highest cutting speeds and at the same time makes the drill universally applicable in all ISO materials of the groups P, M, K, N, S and H. Compared to the market, the DC180 Supreme increases the tool life by around 50 percent. The drill with internal cooling can be used with emulsion as well as with oil or minimum quantity lubrication (MQL). Its geometry with a straight cutting edge gives it high stability and process reliability. Walter offers the DC180 Supreme with Ø 3-20 mm for a wide range of applications.

As standard, Walter has the DC180 Supreme in the construction dimensions 3 × Dc (according to DIN 6537 short) as well as 5 × Dc (according to DIN 6537 long) in its programme. The tool specialist offers special tools with intermediate dimensions as well as step drills via the Walter Xpress service with shortened delivery times (maximum three weeks). The Walter Xtreme Evo Plus drills of the DC180 family are part of the Supreme product line. This is designed for high quantities and drilling volumes. Due to its long tool life, productivity and wear resistance in demanding applications, the DC180 Supreme reduces costs and is particularly well suited for difficult machining of ISO M and S materials, for example in the aerospace industry. The tool is also suitable for applications with a high number of holes, for example in the automotive and supplier industry. Other areas of application are general mechanical engineering, tool and mould making and the energy industry.
