Practical relevance at the 7th KNARR Precision Day

A packed supplier exhibition, interesting insights during guided company tours, a varied programme of lectures and a prominent keynote speaker who shared his entrepreneurial approach with the auditorium – this combination was offered by the KNARR Precision Day and ensured many satisfied faces.

For the seventh time in total, the Franconian standard parts manufacturer opened the doors of its production and presentation rooms in May 2023. More than 200 users and decision-makers from the core areas of design, tool and mould making and plastics technology used the platform for creative discussions in a relaxed atmosphere.

After a welcome snack and the official opening, moderator Thomas Wunsiedler led through a varied programme of presentations. The first speaker was Jörn Maier (SPINNER Automation), who described in detail how the shortage of skilled workers can be countered by automated manufacturing solutions. Sales Manager Aris Maul from Ceratizit Deutschland GmbH then presented the “Tool-O-Mat”, a modern and extremely efficient way of stocking tools, before Kevin Dewi and Holger Reimsbach (Plan Software GmbH) rounded off the first block of presentations with the current trends in e-commerce and their significance for industrial companies.
After the lunch break, Christoph Schaber (ARBURG) and Granit Guri (HACK Formenbau) both emphasised that digitalisation is becoming increasingly important within the industry. From the different perspectives of a machine manufacturer and a mould making company, they demonstrated the added value but also the challenges of digitalisation.

In addition to the individual presentations, a total of 24 renowned and in some cases long-standing KNARR partners provided additional trade fair character in the exhibition rooms. The high-calibre list of exhibitors offered a lot: from active contact cultivation to well-founded technical discussions – here exhibitors and visitors benefit equally.

All day long, visitors were able to take a look behind the scenes at KNARR in small groups. Accompanied by technical experts, the guests encountered a mix of proven manufacturing methods paired with state-of-the-art machinery and an impressive vertical range of manufacture during ongoing production. In addition to the impressions gained from all production areas, the individuality of the tours, during which all questions of the respective participants were addressed, was perceived positively.

The visitors could look forward to a special highlight at the end of the lecture series: Keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Claus Hipp looked back on the development of the HIPP baby food brand, which he played a decisive role in shaping. In a charming manner, he took the audience on a journey through his life’s work. With the topic “Ethics in Business – The Honourable Merchant”, he reaffirmed his decades-long company philosophy and stated that ecological as well as economic and social sustainability form the indispensable foundations for entrepreneurial success.

“In terms of sustainability, Mr Hipp is both a pioneer and a role model. Decades before the term ‘organic’ became a market factor in our perception, it was lived practice at HIPP. Of course we are very proud to have such a German entrepreneurial luminary as our guest,” Thomas Wunsiedler summed up.

“Our ambition is to create a practice-oriented networking platform in a family atmosphere,” adds Managing Director Rainer Knarr. He and his team have undoubtedly come a step closer to this goal at this year’s Precision Day.
