We create added value for people and the environment” – the sera Group has dedicated itself to this guiding principle. As an environmental technology company, which is represented with its products in many resource saving applications, the Immenhausen family business is very aware of its responsibility for the world of tomorrow. sera is involved in many ways: As a pioneer in the field of hydrogen technologies, sera is pushing the mobility turnaround, the internal goods traffic is now mostly carried out with loads of e-bikes, the company fleet is successively converting to hybrid and e-vehicles that are charged at the company’s own e-charging stations. At present, parts of the company premises are being renovated according to the latest environmental standards; the presentation of the sera environmental prize as part of the founder competition promotion North Hesse is a matter close to the heart of the sera Group as is the annual sera Environment Day by the employees.

The integration of an environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001 is the logical next step. Within the scope of the successful audit and the renewed certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001, the sera Group was also certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management System. In accordance with the company policy, the areas of quality, occupational health and safety and environmental protection were combined to form a management system, the sera MS.

As a certified company, the sera Group undertakes to check and adapt its processes permanently and repeatedly. The overriding objectives are to promote environmental protection, reduce environmental impacts and thus implement environmental objectives correctly – in harmony with economic, social and political requirements. “The certification according to DIN EN ISO 14001 helps us to further bundle our activities and processes and improve them sustainably”, says Andreas Hanke, authorized signatory and Head of Quality and Development.

“The consistent focus on environmental issues is a central corporate value for us,” says Stefan Merwar, authorized signatory and Head of Marketing. “On the one hand, it is an important task to solve these overall social problems, especially from a technical point of view. On the other hand, there are also excellent economic prospects here”. The certification environmental management system is therefore also of great economic importance: costs for waste, material, water and energy can be saved through adapted processes. Many customers also demand an environmental management system when placing orders, so certification also increases competitiveness. “All in all it is a WIN-WIN situation. For our company and for the environment,” adds Stefan Merwar.
