SPX Power Team, a worldwide leader in hydraulic pumps and tools, has added a new digital gauge to its product offering. The new Power Team digital gauge, Order No. 9042DG, be used in any application where a traditional analog gauge has been used and is ideal for applications that require better accuracy or whenever the user has a desire to view more than one unit of measure.

The 9042DG comes standard with many useful functions, including: backlight, automatic off (battery conservation), pressure tare, minimum pressure memory, maximum pressure memory and the ability to display a custom scale. The display also includes a convenient bar graph to help understand how quickly the pressure is changing. The gauges are calibrated for life at the factory and can be certified in the field if required.

“Many customers will benefit from the ability to display a custom scale,” comments Jonathan Schroeder, Global Product Manager. “If the included units [psi, bar, mPa, inHg, kg/cm2] are not ideal for a given application, the user can quickly program the gauge to display a more appropriate unit. Hydraulic torque wrench users will be able to quickly see the amount of torque [lb-ft or Nm] being applied by their wrench. Cylinder users will be able to see the amount of force [lbf, N] being applied by a cylinder or the amount of weight [lb, Kg, tons] resting upon one.”

The 9042DG achieves 0.5% F.S. accuracy. Typical 2.5” (63 mm) analog gauges can accurately be read to within 5%. The 9042DG is 10x more accurate. For critical processes, a digital gauge is ideal as it eliminates many of the sources of error associated with an analog gauge. The min or max memory recall function is ideally suited for applications where the user is not able to record the pressure achieved since the last reset.

The 9042DG is designed to survive the rugged conditions that Power Team products are often subjected to. It has an IP67 weatherproof rating and a laser welded, stainless steel sensor and socket. It comes standard with a protective rubber boot to protect against accidental impacts. It is shock and vibration tested to MIL-STD-202G and provides a typical cycle life of 10,000,000 cycles. The digital gauge meets or exceeds RoHS 2002/95/EC, CE, ASME B40.7, UL and cUL 61010-1 requirements. The 9042DG uses two standard AA (LR6) batteries and is expected to last more than 2,000 hours under normal operating conditions.
