“Let’s save the world now”: 76 children set an example on 11 May in Sonthofen as part of the tree planting initiative “Plant-for-the-Planet” by planting numerous trees and providing information on climate justice. SUMA supported the initiative with a donation.

The global active student initiative “Plant-for-the-Planet”, which was founded in 2007 by a 9-year-old German boy, has set itself the goal of planting 1,000 billion trees. With all the donations collected, 100 trees and hedge plants, including horse chestnuts and fruit trees, could be planted in Sonthofen.
The pupils, who came from many different Southern German regions defied the bad weather and actively planted the trees and hedges in the afternoon. The planting took place as part of an all-day academy, during which the young climate savers were able to learn a lot about climate protection from their allies of the same age, who are already active as climate ambassadors, and were themselves trained as ambassadors for climate justice.

The Academy was made possible with the generous support of the City of Sonthofen under the patronage of Mayor Christian Wilhelm.
