The new AvaSpec-ULS2048XL+ unveiled at Photonics West

We are proud to announce the release of the AvaSpec-ULS2048XL+, the latest addition to our SensLine spectrometer series. This new model builds on its predecessor’s (AvaSpec-ULS2048XL-EVO) legacy, introducing significant enhancements that set a new standard for performance in the spectroscopy market.

The AvaSpec-ULS2048XL+ is engineered for exceptional sensitivity and efficiency across the ultraviolet (UV), visible (VIS), and near-infrared (NIR) ranges. By incorporating large monolithic pixels measuring 14×500 microns and a back-thinned CCD detector, the spectrometer delivers superior performance in demanding applications, including biomedical fluorescence detection, environmental pollutant analysis, and quality control in agriculture and food production.

Key features of the AvaSpec-ULS2048XL+ include:

• Enhanced Sensitivity in UV and NIR: The spectrometer excels in capturing low-light signals, ensuring precise measurements even in challenging environments.
• Data Processing: With ultra-fast integration times as low as 2 microseconds and high-speed communication via USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet, users can achieve real-time results with great efficiency.
• Improved Image Lag Reduction: The upgraded design reduces image lag by up to 10 times compared to the previous model, ensuring sharper and more reliable data capture.
• Flexible Configurations: The AvaSpec-ULS2048XL+ is available in two versions:
  • Standard Model: Equipped with a replaceable slit for customizable throughput and resolution.
  • OEM Version: Featuring an industrial stainless steel, electromagnetic-compatible housing for seamless integration into existing systems.

With its compact dimensions (175 x 127 x 44.5 mm) and lightweight design (1.18 kg), the AvaSpec-ULS2048XL+ offers exceptional versatility for laboratory and industrial settings. Its detector collection lens further enhances sensitivity, while improved electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) shielding ensures consistent performance in diverse applications.
