COOPERATIVE PROJECT FOR THE CREATION OF FASCINATING LIGHT EFFECTS

By combining light systems and matching textures, a fascinating interplay of light, shadow and texture is created in a cooperation project between Lightworks GmbH and the Reichle Technology Center.

Breathtaking light effects are made possible by special light refraction.

Lightworks is the specialist for holistic lighting system development, from design to concept development and prototype phase to the development of series-production readiness for industrialization partners in the automotive and non-automotive sectors in the interior and exterior areas. Supported by the surface texture specialist Reichle, fascinating synergies arise here in the play with light and shadow. By applying appropriate textures with sharp edges without a radius, the Technology Center enhances the lighting effects and influences the shadows according to the customer’s wishes.

Through individual light and texture consulting, impressive new surfaces can be created and optimally presented through realistic display of light-surface scenarios.

In the in-house Advanced Design Center of Reichle Technologiezentrum GmbH, a wide variety of texture designs with a wide range of texture depths are developed for this purpose – according to customer requirements or completely freely. Supplemented by the comprehensive in-house competencies of Lightworks – in light simulation, light laboratory, design, electronics development, series/industrialization project management – individual, fascinating results are possible.

Only the presentation of the light-surface scenarios on a final product makes the fascinating surfaces tangible. For this purpose, Lightworks converts the results from the light simulation into physically correct and photorealistic renderings in VR environments (dynamic presentation of complete vehicle sceneries). Finally, the textures created fully digitally by the Reichle Technology Center can be viewed on the final product and in the overall context. If they match the desired result, they can be introduced worldwide thanks to the fully digital processes.

Innovative illumination and transillumination create fascinating effects on surfaces.

The interplay of light and texture allows complete freedom of color in lighting as well as the most individual lighting scenarios.
With decades of experience, Lightworks enables endless possibilities in lighting color choices, creates trend analyses upon request, and implements innovative material, surface, technology, and process approaches in the project. Complemented by the expertise of the Reichle Technology Center in the area of surfaces, the most individual scenarios are possible, such as running out structures and structural gradients in the surface. Mappings are then used to apply the selected texture to the component as desired. Fully digital and without restrictions for the most individual component geometries.
