König + Neurath’s INSIDE 50 flexible screen system received iF DESIGN AWARD

König + Neurath AG, the leading international full-range supplier of office furniture, seating and room systems, received the iF DESIGN AWARD for its INSIDE 50 flexible screen system at the next awards ceremony. There were a large number of competitors. The top-class jury of experts had to award the coveted hallmark of excellence to winners selected from 5000 entries in seven categories from 53 countries. This accolade underscores the company’s design strategy of developing versatile furnishing concepts and functional products which can be adapted quickly to new work scenarios and furniture requirements, thanks to their modularity and flexibility, and which have a positive influence on psychological and physical well-being.

INSIDE.50 – the specialist for division of space and for private zones

It is especially in open-plan offices that the background noise level is considered nuisance factor no. 1. Employees can only work effectively when they feel at ease at their workstation. The modular, frameless screens from the INSIDE 50 range create spatial, visual and acoustic privacy for concentrated work. They create an aesthetically sophisticated division of the floor area into different work areas and communication zones. In this way, the employee has a personal space in which to alternate between concentration and communication with colleagues. The slender outline makes for an unobtrusive impression, and creates a modern and aesthetically pleasing work environment. The fabric-wrapped aluminium profiles underscore the homely feel of the product.

The high degree of flexibility and the simple handling of INSIDE 50 enable optimum use of space. When required, the screen modules can be reconfigured in seconds and adapted with great flexibility to new layout requirements. The infill panels, which can be removed without tools, are the absolute highlight. Each side of the screen can be specified in a different material and colour, giving a harmonious atmosphere to the whole room. Despite the slimline silhouette, the skeleton frames provide sufficient room to run cables or to fit acoustically-effective B-Absorber panels, which absorb distracting noise at medium and high frequencies. In this way, INSIDE 50 makes an elegant contribution to the acoustic design and planning of the working environment, and increases the sense of well-being in the office.

The award ceremony was being held on the 26th February in the BMW Welt in Munich. For over 60 years, the iF DESIGN AWARD has been a world-wide recognised trademark for distinguished design. The iF label is an internationally established symbol for outstanding design, and one of the most important design prizes in the world.
