The office furniture manufacturer König + Neurath has reached an important milestone in its restructuring process. Within the framework of its ongoing self-administration restructuring proceedings, the company has agreed on a sustainable continuation concept. With secured financing and the support of all stakeholders, the foundation has now been laid for the company’s long-term stabilization and its return to regular business operations.

The jointly developed restructuring plan aims to strengthen the company’s competitiveness, secure long-term financing, and consistently implement its strategic realignment.

Three Key Pillars of the Restructuring Plan

The continuation concept is based on three central elements designed to secure the company’s future and ensure operational stability.

Commitment from the Shareholder Family

A key component of the restructuring solution is the continued involvement of the shareholder family. The family intends to maintain ownership of the company and actively support its long-term development.

As part of the restructuring process, the shareholders will provide financial contributions in the form of a purchase price as well as additional investment capital. This commitment represents a clear signal of confidence in the company’s brand, its workforce, and the production site in Karben.

Financial Support from Funding Partners

Financial partners will provide the necessary liquidity through a structured financing agreement based on secured and market-standard credit arrangements.

This financial support ensures the stability required for the next phase of the company’s development. It also provides the resources needed for investments and operational continuity as the company moves forward with its restructuring plan.

With this financing structure in place, König + Neurath gains the financial stability necessary to strengthen its market position and pursue future growth opportunities.

Workforce Contribution and Structural Adjustments

Structural adjustments are an unavoidable part of the restructuring process. These include a socially responsible reduction of the workforce aimed at preserving approximately 700 jobs.

Employees affected by the restructuring measures will transition into a transfer company, which will provide support for professional reorientation. The program includes training opportunities, individual career counseling, and assistance in finding new employment.

In addition, the remaining workforce will contribute to the restructuring through measures negotiated in the social plan and reconciliation of interests. These contributions include adjustments to special payments and the temporary postponement of collectively agreed wage increases.

These steps are intended to strengthen the company’s long-term competitiveness and secure the remaining jobs.

Clear Outlook After Self-Administration Proceedings

With the agreement now in place, the company aims to complete the self-administration restructuring proceedings as planned and transition back into regular business operations.

During the restructuring process, the company’s operational activities continue without interruption. Customers, retail partners, and suppliers can rely on the company’s continued performance, product quality, and reliability.

König + Neurath intends to remain a driving force for modern and sustainable workplace solutions.

A Foundation for a Stable Restart

According to Chief Restructuring Officer Patrick Heinen, the agreement represents a crucial step toward securing the company’s future. The solution reflects the willingness of all stakeholders to assume responsibility and work together toward a viable path forward.

Although the restructuring measures involve difficult decisions, they create the foundation for a stable restart and renewed growth.

With the support of employees, financial partners, and the shareholder family, König + Neurath is now positioned to move beyond the restructuring phase and continue shaping innovative and sustainable working environments.
