LASER COMPONENTS’s new TSAB-40 and TSFB-125 strippers allow coatings removal without lost of fiber optic strength

Even robust fluoroacrylate coatings can be removed using the TSAB-40 and TSFB-125 strippers without the underlying fiber optic losing its strength. These strippers use a thermal process that heats the primary and secondary coatings. This allows them to be removed without the blades touching the actual fiber. This prevents fiber breaks and other damage that can occur with stripping tongs or purely mechanical strippers. Depending on the coating material, the temperature of the heating element can be variably adjusted up to 200°C.

With the TSAB-40, the distance between the stripping blades can be freely selected to support fiber diameters between 30 µm and 1 mm and coating diameters up to 1.2 mm. In contrast, the TSFB-125 is preadjusted for fiber diameters of 125 µm and coating diameters up to 900 µm.
