Discover technology, open up new possibilities, and shape the future—together! That was the motto of Girls’Day at NETZSCH Pumps & Systems in Waldkraiburg. Eight female students from the region spent a day diving into the world of technology, gaining insight into the training opportunities offered by the global expert in handling complex media.

The participants were interested and enthusiastic about everything from IT to development and assembly. They tried out three apprenticeships and experienced firsthand how exciting technology can be.

Insights into the professional world at NETZSCH

The day began with a warm welcome and reception on the NETZSCH Campus in Waldkraiburg. A company presentation by second-year apprentices gave the participants an initial glimpse into the world of the engineering specialist. Following a brief safety introduction, a guided tour of the various areas of the NETZSCH Campus took place. The students then had the opportunity to get hands-on experience, trying out a range of tasks across different departments and showcasing their skills. “We believe it’s important to show young people early on just how varied and exciting technical careers can be. Girls’Day is the ideal platform for that,” says Christina Stanka, who coordinates training at NETZSCH and organized the event

First steps in exciting apprenticeships

In the practical part of Girls’Day, the participants could immerse themselves directly in technical professions. They gained exciting insights into the apprenticeships for IT specialists, technical product designers and industrial mechanics. Under the guidance of apprentices and with the support of the trainers, they got to know the IT processes, tried their hand at construction and the creation of technical drawings, and assembled small mechanical units. This gave the students a taste of what they could expect in a possible apprenticeship at NETZSCH.

All participants and supervisors met for lunch at Café & Restaurant FELIX. In a relaxed atmosphere, the day’s experiences were discussed, and questions were answered. “Overall, it was a successful day. The students were very interested and curious. Maybe we will see one of them again in a few years as apprentices at NETZSCH,” said Stanka happily.
