The Polytechnik Group is celebrating its 60th anniversary, underscoring its position as an established and reliable partner for sustainable energy solutions from biomass and CO₂-neutral and CO₂-negative technologies.

The anniversary not only marks a long tradition, but also lays the foundation for further growth and innovation in a dynamically developing market.
Polytechnik offers technologically advanced solutions in three key areas. Within its PolyCombustion division, the company develops and builds combustion systems for a wide range of biomass fuels that enable efficient energy generation. These plants, with a capacity range from 1 MW to 40 MWth, are characterised by minimal emissions, fully automatic combustion control and maximum efficiency. Polytechnik also has PolyCarbonisation technology, a process for producing biocarbon that can be used in a wide range of applications. The plants achieve an annual production capacity of up to 25,000 tonnes per production line. In addition, torrefaction plants with an annual production capacity of up to 60,000 tonnes per production line are available, which convert solid biomass into a storable and transportable torrefied material. The third of the three core technologies is PolyGasification, an advanced gasification technology for the flexible conversion of biomass into energy. PolyHeld provides low-emission and efficient heat supply in the low output range from 400 kW to 3 MW. The combination of a counterflow gasifier with targeted staged combustion enables efficiencies of over 92% – without additional flue gas cleaning. For higher outputs, the Kombi Power System is available, which enables thermal outputs from 990 kW to 20 MW and electrical outputs from 250 kW to 5 MW.
The recently completed Taaleri project in Finland, currently the largest torrefaction plant in Europe, for which Polytechnik supplied key components, is an example of the company’s expertise. The plant will produce up to 60,000 tonnes of torrefied pellet per year, which will serve as a sustainable substitute for fossil fuels.
With the expansion of its management team to three managing directors, Polytechnik is underlining its focus on strategic development and organisational stability.
