EnviTec Biogas AG has secured three new contracts with first-time customers in Germany, further strengthening its position in the biomethane and gas upgrading market. All projects involve EnviThan gas upgrading plants that will be manufactured at EnviTec’s production site in Saerbeck over the coming months. The contracts span three federal states and underline the growing demand for efficient, scalable biomethane solutions despite ongoing regulatory and market challenges.
With the new project in Biburg, Lower Bavaria, EnviTec Biogas is entering the Bavarian market for the first time after completing more than 110 plants across Germany. The customer, Bioenergie Biburg, is replacing an existing water scrubbing system with a modern EnviThan upgrading plant. The new facility is designed for a biomethane capacity of 1,000 Nm³/h, with grid feed-in scheduled to begin in July 2026.
A major advantage of the project is the integrated supply of a booster compressor to reach the required grid pressure. This holistic approach significantly accelerates the grid injection process and simplifies project coordination for the customer.
Customized engineering played a decisive role in the customer’s decision. Due to limited space at the existing biogas plant, EnviTec’s container-based system design allows the gas upgrading plant to be adapted precisely to on-site conditions. This flexibility ensures efficient integration without compromising performance, while also keeping power consumption low.
The second new contract was signed with Hamme Energie GmbH & Co. KG in Osterholz-Scharmbeck near Bremen. Here, EnviTec is also constructing an EnviThan plant as an extension to an existing biogas facility. The system, currently under construction in Saerbeck, will initially produce 137 Nm³/h of biomethane and can be expanded to 232 Nm³/h by adding membranes directly on site.
The biomethane will be fed into the network of Osterholzer Stadtwerke. Feedstock includes dairy cattle slurry, cattle manure, and silage maize from the operator’s own agricultural activities, ensuring a stable and sustainable supply chain.
The third project is located in Reichardtswerben, Saxony-Anhalt, and is being developed for a Dutch operator of a large dairy farming enterprise. The EnviThan plant is designed for an initial capacity of 200 Nm³/h of biomethane, with the option to expand to 400 Nm³/h. Once operational, the biomethane will be injected into the Ontras network to serve the fuel market.
All components for this project have already been ordered, allowing production to begin immediately upon arrival of the container units. EnviTec’s manufacturing facilities in Saerbeck are currently operating at high capacity, reflecting strong market demand.
The three new contracts highlight EnviTec Biogas’ ability to deliver reliable, future-proof gas upgrading solutions even in a market shaped by political uncertainty, evolving regulations, and lengthy approval processes. By combining proven technology, flexible plant design, and integrated project execution, EnviTec continues to support the expansion of biomethane infrastructure across Germany.
