EnviTec Biogas continues its expansion in Europe, supporting climate-neutral goals. The company’s latest project for customer Citrone in Lithuania includes a new biogas plant with gas upgrading. Using EnviThan membrane technology, the plant produces 675 Nm³/h of biomethane (6.29 MW), contributing to renewable energy adoption and reducing fossil fuel reliance.
Investments like this are key for decarbonization across Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia. Since 2022, the Baltic countries have been independent of gas imports, yet they continue to promote sustainable energy. Initiatives such as the 2024 joint declaration with Germany and Japan aim to support e-fuels with near-zero CO₂ emissions.
The gas upgrading plant, manufactured at EnviTec’s Saerbeck facility, is scheduled for delivery before April 30, 2026. After installation and commissioning, biomethane from cattle manure and slurry will be fed into the local high-pressure gas pipeline, with potential use in export and fuel markets.
EnviTec Biogas has been active in the Baltic region for over 15 years, delivering planning, implementation, and local services for biogas projects. Between 2009 and 2013, seven plants were built in Latvia, with four additional gas upgrading projects completed in Estonia since 2019. This track record highlights the company’s reliability and commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
