BDI – BioEnergy received international environmental award for their project „Energy from spent grains“

In course of a festive gala event, BDI – BioEnergy International AG was awarded this international environmental prize.

On the occasion of the ten-year anniversary of Green Tec and the award ceremony in the ewerk Berlin, BDI was able to prevail over numerous other entries with their project „Energy from spent grains“.

„Brewing a better world“ is the slogan for Heineken’s sustainabiliy initiative. The core technology to achieve this goal and produce Biogas comes from the Styrian plant manufacturer BDI – BioEnergy International AG: brewery residues are recycled in a spent-grain-fermentation plant and the generated energy supplied to the brewery Göss – therefore the brewery is independent of fossil fuels.

Dr. Edgar Ahn, Member of the Board:

„We are very pleased to have been awarded this prize – with our slogan „From Waste to Value“, we are standing up for environmental and resource protection in our projects. BDI is very proud to be able to make a significant contribution to the CO2 neutrality with its sustainable technology.“
