E-world energy & water 2014 will examine megatrends in the energy sector

Top-Class Expert Forum on “smart energy” and “Big Data Management”
How can energy be used more efficiently? This question will be the centre of attention at the 14th E-world energy & water. On February 11 – 13, 2014, the premier European fair will present innovative products and services from the electricity, gas and water industries and from energy technology. In this respect, the megatrend of “smart energy” will once again be in the spotlight in particular.

Using Energy Intelligently
On 3,800 square metres in Hall 4 and in the Galeria at Messe Essen, around 70 exhibitors will present their solutions for intelligently controllable grids (smart grids) and meters (smart metering), networked house technology, energy storage and energy data management. With the considerably enlarged exhibition area, E-world energy & water will take account of the growing interest in “intelligent energy”.

Renowned Manufacturers at E-world
The complex of subjects is regarded as a source of impetus for more energy efficiency and thus also as a driving force behind innovations in the sector. Even now, renowned exhibitors such as the energy data specialist Thüga MeteringService, the IT service providers Bosch Software Innovations and SAE-IT Systems, the energy law consultant MPW Consulting and the automation specialist Bilfinger Greylogix are already involved in the thematic joint appearance.

Central Challenge: Coping with Colossal Quantities of Data
One new main focal point in 2014 will relate to the future trend of “Big Data Management”, the acquisition, storage and analytical evaluation of gigantic quantities of data in the terabyte to exabyte ranges. Expert lectures and podium discussions in the “smart energy” forum for which Zentralverband der Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie e.V. (ZVEI – “Central Association of the Electrotechnology and Electronics Industries”) will be the ideal sponsor will be dedicated to this subject too.
