PV Extreme Sports with Hanwha Q CELLS: Launch of Powerful G3 Solar Modules Q.PEAK-G3 and Q.PRO-G3

Hanwha Q CELLS, a leading Germany-based photovoltaic company, announced the newest generation of its high-end modules; Q.PEAK-G3 and Q.PRO-G3. These modules are the top athletes in their field, showcasing their versatility in the five most important categories, namely, the cell, glass, frame, electrics, and costs – the Modern Module Pentathlon. The 60-cell G3 modules offer an outstanding performance of up to 275 Wp, combined with an innovative anti-reflection technology and tension-resistant frame design. The monocrystalline Q.PEAK-G3 as well as the polycrystalline Q.PRO-G3 modules reach market-leading efficiencies, temperature coefficients of -0.43 %/K for Pmpp as well as up to 98 percent output at low-light conditions of 200 W/m2. The new G3-series solar modules will be shown at Intersolar 2013 in hall A.3, booth 170 from 19th to 21st June 2013, alongside the all-black module Q.PEAK BLK-G3 as well as the 48-cell module Q.PEAK S-G3.

Innovative technology and better handling beat all records
New high-tech materials allow for previously unattained high module quality and long-term durability: The 35 mm frame of the G3-series consists of a high-tech aluminium alloy, which is particularly tension-resistant due to a special thermal treatment. The bonding of the high-tech frame and the laminates with high-quality silicon results in extremely stable solar modules. They can therefore withstand high loads such as wind gales or sliding snow up to 5400 Pa. Hanwha Q CELLS combines the innovative frame technology with a special high-end anti-reflection glass, minimizing reflection losses by half. The outcome is an extremely robust and lightweight product, weighing in at only 19 kg for the 60-cell module, which results in easier handling and reduction of warehousing and logistic costs by up to 29 percent. In addition, a new breathable junction box and robust connectors increase module reliability and energy output through improved heat management and stability – including ammonia and salt fog resistance.

A solution for every challenge
With the monocrystalline Q.PEAK-G3 module as well as the polycrystalline Q.PRO-G3 module, Hanwha Q CELLS provides innovative products that are extremely well-suited to conditions at just about any installation site: The Q.PEAK-G3 is especially valuable for residential roofs with little space and a high need for output. It has a nominal power of up to 275 Wp combined with a 98 percent output at low-light conditions of 200 W/m2. Q.PRO-G3 achieves up to 265 Wp combined with a 97 percent output at low-light conditions of 200 W/m². Especially, the high power classes of the polycrystalline modules apply the high-performance cells based on Q.ANTUM cell technology: a dielectric rear surface structure reflects rays of light which might have passed through the cell. The energy which would have otherwise been lost can now be converted into electricity. Thereby cell efficiency could be increased to 19.5 percent – a world record confirmed by the Fraunhofer Institute (ISE).

The G3-series is backed by an extended 12-year product warranty and a linear performance warranty that guarantees at least 83% of the nominal power after 25 years.
