Heat Pump App for iPhone and iPad announced by Dimplex

New control options for building management systems for the Dimplex heat pump manager

In both new build and renovation projects, heat pumps are often combined with other renewable energy generators. More and more building owners also want to control their heat pump remotely or only operate one system for the entire building management.  Dimplex introduced a new version of its proven heat pump manager with ground-breaking improvements to meet these requirements.

Up to now, the Dimplex heat pump manager could only be used for the intelligent regulation of the heat pump heating system. Today, the combination of heat pumps with other renewable heat generators requires a new generation of control technology such as the Dimplex WPM EconPlus heat pump manager. The WPM EconPlus ensures economical operation of the complete system and convenient central control of all integrated heat generators. The WPM Econ SOL solar module as an addition to the heat pump manager ensures the combination and central control of Dimplex solar collectors and a solar cylinder.

Dimplex offers additional modules for the operation of heat pumps via remote control or the integration into higher-level building management systems. The NWPM extension module acts as an interface between the heat pump manager and an Ethernet network. With this module, the heat pump can be controlled via Smartphone or PC with an internet connection. If an internet connection is not available, the heat pump can be still be controlled via the browser using a PC or smartphone via a static IP address. This way, operating parameters can be read or changed via PC or Smartphone. The NWPM “remote control module” can be combined with the WPM 2004, 2006, 2007 or WPM EconPlus heat pump managers.

Dimplex introduced the HeatPumpApp for iPhone and iPad for convenient remote control of the heat pump. This app facilitates quick and convenient monitoring of the heat pump status, access to current and historical operating data and, of course, direct changing of the settings. If necessary, the technician can control the system from their desk using this app.

Dimplex provides a demo version of the app “HeatPumpLite” for testing the functionality of the new remote control app free of charge. This can be used to test the complete range of functions of the HeatPumpApp with a demonstration system. Both apps can be easily downloaded at www.dimplex.de/app.

Dimplex offers the EWPM extension module for integrating the heat pump manager into a KNX/EIB bus system. This enables data exchange between the heat pump manager and a building management system (BMS). This way, the heat pump can be controlled and monitored via the BMS. The WPM 2006, 2007 or WPM EconPlus heat pump managers are required for this function.
