HUSUM Wind collaborates with most important industry associations

In 2015, the German Wind Energy Association (BWE), the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), the German Engineering Association (VDMA) and Schleswig-Holstein’s network agency Windcomm are once again working closely with HUSUM Wind. The fair is the highlight of the year for the most important industry associations and clusters in the German and international wind industry. In addition to having their own stands, they are also organising various forums and excursions during the fair.

Peter Becker, managing director of Messe Husum & Congress, welcomes their involvement: “We are pleased to have four of the most important wind industry associations and institutions at our side. This emphasises the fact that HUSUM Wind is the main industry event in 2015.”

BWE managing director Herrmann Albers is also looking forward to the fair: “HUSUM Wind is the meeting place for the industry in Germany. This is the cradle of wind energy, professional management of the energy transition, and what has become a durable industry. Without a strong and dynamic domestic market, the wind industry, with 138,000 employees in Germany, would hardly have become the key national and international player of the renewable energy age. I am looking forward to exchanging ideas and experiences with operators, project planners and wind businesses from all over Germany.”

Dr Klaus Rave, chairman of the GWEC, emphasises that “Husum is about meeting with industry experts and seeing first-hand what positive effects wind energy has on the local community. GWEC’s support is not only well established but it is there to stay as HusumWind offers unique opportunities for match-making and allows for deep insights into all aspects of our industry from the perspective of practitioners and pioneers alike.“

“With a national foothold in Husum and a global one in Hamburg, the industry remains stable in a strong German market. Husum’s tradition provides the right setting for German topics such as service, tender design and securing skilled personnel,” adds Matthias Zelinger, managing director of VDMA Power Systems.

In the area around the exhibition site, visitors have the opportunity to experience worldwide unique technologies and concepts at work. “The Windcomm energy cluster and its members will be organising excursions during the fair, so that German and international guests can find out about the latest developments in the market first hand. That is the added value of HUSUM Wind, something you will not find anywhere else,” assures Dr Matthias Hüppauff, project coordinator at Windcomm.

From 15 to 18 September, Messe Husum is expecting 600 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors. This makes HUSUM Wind, with its focus on the German-speaking market, this year’s biggest wind industry event anywhere in the world. The fair is noted for its high level of practical application. The range of exhibitors covers all areas, from turbine manufacturers and energy companies to maintenance enterprises and wind industry suppliers.

Parallel to HUSUM Wind and the congress programme there is also the Windcareer job fair, which gives insights into and an overview of career opportunities in the wind industry. The organisers will also be offering various excursions, such as visits to wind farms of production plants.
