MFD-Titan – Multi-Function Display with Bluetooth Communication by EATON Industries

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation will be presenting the MFD-Titan multi-function display with Bluetooth communication. A Bluetooth adapter enables machines and plants to be commissioned and maintained remotely. Users can therefore now also communicate with the controller outside of noisy and dangerous areas. Distances of ten meters between the notebook and MFD-Titan can be bridged with a Bluetooth adapter in normal industrial environments.

The Bluetooth adapter comes with the necessary wireless communication approvals for Europe (ENW89811K4CF 22/xx R&TTE 1999/5EC9/EC), for the USA (FCC ID: T7VEBMU) and Canada (C: 216QEBMU).

An 8-digit PIN number for each Bluetooth adapter is used as a security code for communication with the notebook and thus prevents unauthorized access to the connected MFD-Titan devices. The Bluetooth adapter is very easy to recognize in Windows 7: A scan for Bluetooth devices is carried out first of all. Once a Bluetooth EASY800-BLT-ADP-xxxxxx has been detected, this can be integrated as required via the security code. The number “xxxxxx” is the MAC ID of the Bluetooth adapter, and is used only once for each adapter. In this way, several adapters can be managed on one notebook. One the other hand, each Bluetooth adapter can manage up to four different notebooks and Bluetooth connections. With the easySoft-Pro software from version 6.91, an established Bluetooth connection can be used as easily as a programming cable for programming, downloads and uploads, as well as for the status display of the circuit diagram.

As well as offering basic control and regulation functions the MFD-Titan multi-function display also offers a range of options for visualizations. Equipped with function blocks such as PID controllers, maths function blocks, pulse width modulation, high-speed counter, text display, bargraphs and bitmap functions etc., the MFD-Titan is a genuine all-rounder for applications in industry and trade. In addition to this is its analog and digital expandability, connectivity to standard bus systems, Ethernet communication, as well as networkability via easyNet – the MFD-Titan is currently the most powerful controller and visualization system of its class on the market.
