Renova, the European FMCG brand in the tissue products segment, is automating its intralogistics with the inauguration of a new high-bay warehouse in Torres Novas, Portugal, where the company’s headquarters are located. The manufacturing, planning, calculation, and installation of the structure were carried out by AR Racking, a company specializing in warehouse solutions, which also took on project management.

“The internationalization of our operations and the presence of the Renova brand in foreign markets compel us to accelerate our processes and become more competitive: faster and more precise to achieve greater volume,” says Luis Saramago, Marketing Director of Renova. “We were aware of AR Racking’s experience in projects of this magnitude; they offered us service, quality, and guaranteed compliance with the execution deadline, so we completed the project with them,” adds the Portuguese company.

Robust Self-Supporting Structure

The self-supporting structure, notable for the fact that the shelves support the entire building, is fully galvanized, making it highly corrosion-resistant and resistant to extreme environmental conditions. The silo covers an area of 6,532 m2 and rises 34 meters above the ground. The rack has a storage capacity for 27,360 Euro pallets, which are loaded and unloaded with double-depth stacker cranes.

AR Racking offers a high level of quality for its industrial racks and structures, which are the result of constant technical development and knowledge of the raw materials with which it works. In this case, the structure was designed with seismic calculations to increase safety for the warehouse and the customer.

Regarding the solution installed for Renova, “automation and the use of space in height allow Renova a much more flexible operation, with capacities for more products and better control of references,” explains Bernardo Sopeña, International Key Account Manager at AR Racking. The self-supporting racks offer high load density, resulting in significant savings due to lower investment costs.
