New hall provides space for expansion of electrical production – around five million euros invested

The expansion of Baumüller Dravinja d.o.o., the Slovenian subsidiary of the German drive and automation manufacturer Baumüller, is complete. In March 2023, the newly opened electrical components building is ready for occupancy: “With this new building, we are doubling our capacities in electrical production. Cable production will also move into the new building, giving us additional space for final assembly for sheet metal production. The additional space freed up by the relocation of logistics is being allotted to sheet metal production. New machines have arrived: a punching machine, a laser cutting machine, and welding robots for TIG arc welding. This will improve the capabilities of our stainless steel processing. We have also optimized our material supply by means of expanded storage areas and three new Kardex Shuttle systems. We are investing so that we can deliver high-quality products to our customers,” reported Andreas Baumüller, Managing Partner of the Baumüller Group, at the building opening ceremony at the production site in Slovenske Konjice.

The two managing directors of Baumüller Dravinja, Helmut Hauf and Jozef Klajnsek, are pleased that the capacity expansion will make it possible to serve the increasing number of customer orders even more efficiently, thereby ensuring the successful growth of the company. The celebrations were attended by Slovenian Chamber of Foreign Trade President Dagmar von Bohnstein and Mayor of Slovenske Konjice Darko Ratajc, the management of Baumüller Dravinja, Andreas Baumüller, Managing Partner of the Baumüller Group and his mother Ursula Baumüller.

Ecological footprint reduced

The photovoltaic system on the hall roofs of Baumüller Dravinja is on line. This measure will significantly reduce the company’s ecological footprint. The plant is thereby producing even more sustainably.

Everything from one source: From sheet metal parts to completely wired control cabinets

Baumüller Dravinja manufactures sheet steel, stainless steel, as well as aluminum solutions. Its products, including control cabinets, housings, and machine casings, are powder-coated and installed on machines or systems, for example. From component design to production, the experts cover the complete range of services for demanding one-off production through to series production.

The plant also serves specific industry requirements. Medical technology and the food industry, for example, have very strict hygiene or storage life requirements for materials and processing.

Continuous growth

The Slovenia-based Baumüller Dravinja d.o.o. is a continuously growing company and now one of the country’s main employers. Since 1992, the number of employees has increased from 32 to the current total of 370. At the same time, the production space increased from 3,600 square meters in 1992 to over 13,000 square meters.

“As a result of the capacity expansion, we will once again be looking for personnel and aim to grow to over 400 employees. I think this is especially good news for the residents of Slovenske Konjice,” Andreas Baumüller concludes.
