Compatibility, flexibility, and easy handling – these are the demands of companies utilizing industrial robots. DENSO Robotics, recognized as the world leader of small assembly industrial robots, launches the new RC8 controller; the smallest industrial robot control in the 3-kw-class. The new control is 60% smaller than the current models. It is 94mm high, and has a surface area of 456 x 298 mm, which is roughly the size of an A3 sheet of paper.

The control fulfils the common security standards ISO and UL, therefore the device functions all around the world. Moreover, the RC8 has the globally standardized ports for Ethernet/IP, Profibus, and DeviceNet. It can communicate with more than 100 industrial devices via the ORiN* network. That is why it is the best solution for various branches is to program the robot control system.

„The today’s market demands industrial robots, and control elements, which meet international security standards, but do not require much space. At the same time, they have to be able to communicate with other industrial devices, and software“, explains Ryoji Nagashima, head of robotics at DENSO Japan. „The positive feedback of our clients shows that the new RC8-control meets highest quality standards of industrial companies.“ In the end, the RC8 helps with saving space, which means money.

The RC8-control will be available May 2012. The aim is to sell 10,000 every year.
