Eaton releases new KBH servo-proportional valve

Power management company Eaton has expanded its AxisPro® product line to include a two-stage, D08 size design featuring valve position feedback on the pilot and main stage. The larger KBH servo-proportional valve helps simplify machine control for demanding applications including for instance injection and blow moulding, large presses, die casting and foundry, test and simulation and wood processing.

“Built on proven KB servo proportional valve technology, the KBH valves demonstrate Eaton’s continuing commitment to innovatively solving customer challenges,” said Giuseppe Scozzarella, product manager, Eaton. “With the high-flow, two-stage design, the reliability, improved diagnostics and configuration flexibility made possible by AxisPro can now be applied to a wider range of industrial machinery.”

As with the single-stage AxisPro valve, the two-stage valve offers on-board motion control, enabling closed loop drive control without the need for expensive motion control cards. Together with the ability to configure the AxisPro KBH valve using Pro-FX® software, it can help simplify machine control for machine builders and end-users alike. The valve also features built-in diagnostic light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and a CANopen bus interface that makes system commissioning and debugging easier.

The new two-stage AxisPro KBH size D08 valve features 375 litre per minute (lpm) rated flow at 10 bar pressure, 350 bar maximum pressure rating and 30 milliseconds (msec) step response time with 100 bar pilot pressure. Additionally, the valve is available with pressure sensors if required, which helps simplify machine layout. The AxisPro KBH size D08 valve is rated for ambient operating temperatures between -25°C and 70°C, as well as sealed to IP65/67.

AxisPro product training sessions, which are available on request, provide a hands-on opportunity for machine builders to configure valves and commission motion control systems in a variety of control modes.
