After two years of intensive development work at Eisenmann, the respective robots are finally being installed at Mercedes-Benz do Brasil: Next year will see the start-up of three interior and exterior coating booths, starting with the C-Class and then the GLA-Class, in Iracemápolis, north-west of Sao Paulo.

“This first order is the result of highly successful joint development work,” explains Ralph Meier, Senior Vice President, Application & Robotics. Eisenmann is fully responsible for the paint process, from the initial design phase, including control technology, through to system integration. The booth design envisages application of four compact paint robots, using the MPX 3500 seven-axis arm model from Yaskawa, four door and two hood openers, the popular high-speed rotary atomizer VarioBell v.2, and the VarioCharger plus dosing system. The newly developed paint changer system Uni Change and the atomizer cleaning unit Vario IP Cleaner will also be employed in Brazil.

The Eisenmann coating booth, developed in close cooperation with Yaskawa, complements delivery of comprehensive system integration from a single source. This new application solution is the first to integrate interior and exterior painting in a single booth, thus reducing investment costs.
