Concentrating on what is important – The Industrial ETHERNET switch is the economical “forwarder” for small to medium-size industrial networks. Thanks to its plug and play technology and the elimination of any device configuration, the ECO switch is the perfect picture of simple automation.

Not every machine or system needs a switch that requires extensive configuration. The ECO switch (852-1111) is the space-saving and cost-saving choice in this case. At the flick of a wrist it links all the ETHERNET-based applications with one another and fulfills the demands of the classic functions of a network switch with a focus on easy handling and the price/performance ratio.

No power supply unit needed
This “unmanaged” switch, in its compact metal enclosure, can not only be quickly attached to the DIN 35 rail, it saves space as well. With its compact dimensions of 74 x 110 x 24 mm, the switch is ideal for tight, cramped spaces. Easy access from above to the ETHERNET ports enables simple connection of network subscribers. The compact size of the switch is enhanced even more by the lack of a power supply unit. Power supply can be between 18 and 30 V. This wide voltage range offers flexible connection options to an existing power system. The integrated surge protection feature provides for additional safety.

More Power Less Space
Thanks to its plug&play feature, the switch is immediately ready for operation. It has all of the classic functions of a network switch, such as automatic data rate adjustment (autonegotiation) or automatic transmit/receive cable detection (Auto-MDIX). It connects up to five network devices to an ETHERNET network with transmission rates of 10, 100 or 1,000 Mbit/s and communicates in full-duplex mode based on IEEE 802.3x. Designed for a temperature range between 0 and 60°C, with protection class IP30 and resistant against high-frequency interference, this switch is optimally designed for use in industrial applications. Front-panel LEDs provide in situ at-a-glance information at all times about diagnostics and the status of the network.

The “Layer 2 switch” rapidly transmits inbound data packets only to the port for the addressed recipient. The MAC address list for the switch manages all network connections for up to 2000 subscribers in the process. The ECO switch features make it a cost-effective and future-oriented solution for enhancing network capacity in small to medium-size companies. The switch is ideally complemented by the uninterruptible power supply units of the EPSITRON® series, for example.
