Precision and condition monitoring support availability
Today, format changes in filling and packaging machines are required more frequently than ever before. The users of these machines expect to be able to manufacture even small batches economically. Quick and precise automated format changes, e.g. to different bottle or container formats, are therefore standard in the modern marketplace.
This flexibility alone, however, is now no longer sufficient to meet the requirements of machine tool constructors (and their customers). The key factor is the way in which the positioning system responsible for the format change also supports the availability of the machine.
How can a positioning system contribute to increasing the availability of the machine? Halstrup-walcher presents the PSE 300 series – a solution that offers comprehensive condition monitoring to achieve greater availability. The PSE 300 series is capable of monitoring a wide range of parameters such as current, torque or power consumption as well as detecting dirt or low voltage that could endanger the precision of positioning mechanism. These risks or dangers are detected early allowing the machine operator to take action before problems or even downtimes arise. Optimum availability is the result.
Special feature: The PSE positioning system from halstrup-walcher can even detect the difference between dirt in the system and a blockage. As a result, it always takes the appropriate action (in one case it must accelerate, in the other it must brake).
A stainless steel version with protection class IP67 for use in hygienic conditions along with a wide range of buses such as Profibus or Ethernet/IP completes the range.
