igm robot 7-axis robot system for the welding of components for bulldozers

igm robot has put the system into operation at Liebherr’s Telfs plant in 2012 works with two 7-axis model RTi 499 welding robots suspended from the columns of the floor track. The two robots thus both move on the same track, which is located between the two manipulator axes, and swivel from one side of the robot floor track to the other.

Increased accessibility thanks to the 7th axis in the igm RTi499 7-axis robot: all media pass through the rotating base

The particular feature of this system is the seventh axis on both robots. The additional rotating base between the rotary arms and the suspended robots extends their pivot radius by 700 millimeters to 2,600 millimeters. The additional axes significantly reduce the risk of collision. This means that both robots can weld seams which are in close proximity, or even that their working ranges overlap.

Dual robot system with 2 igm RTi499 7-axis robots: as a result of the integrated rotating base together with the rotary arms, the length of the floor track could be reduced by approximately 4 m.
