Introbotix uses ATI’s Robotic Tool Changers for its CI1000 testing solution

ATI Industrial Automation’s Robotic Tool Changers are being utilized in the CI1000 Controlled Impedance Testing Cell created by Introbotix. The CI1000 is an easy to learn and simple to operate robotic controlled system, which includes single source software and hardware providing reliable TDR testing for manufacturing, developers, and laboratory work.

When the CI1000 begins testing, it identifies and verifies all probe tips. This process utilizes multiple ATI QC-5 Robotic Tool Changers. The Tool Changers provide quick and reliable exchange of the tools being used in the calibration. After the calibration is complete, the robotically-controlled probe tip moves freely to any test point and is able to accurately measure hundreds of test points in moments. Measurements are interpreted and recorded into a database format allowing it to be easily exported for analysis. When testing a single board, multiple probes can be called according to their job instructions so testing doesn’t need to stop for operator intervention. The ATI Robotic Tool Changer enables this process to occur quickly and reliably, dramatically improving testing efficiency. The CI1000 is capable of running batch programs over and over with minimum operator interaction. It is also able to easily perform prototype testing making it simple to manually register a board for testing.

The CI1000 is the perfect testing and recording system capable of increasing TDR through output by 5 to 10 times. It thereby reduces operating costs of TDR testing and is far superior to hand-probing because it eliminates repetitive motion injuries and dramatically increasing the reliability of testing.
