Laser hybrid welding and new large gantry for laser applications by Reis Robotics

Reis Robotics will display laser hybrid welding solution and new large gantry for laser applications on this year’s LASER World of PHOTONICS (May 13 – 16, 2013) in Munich.

The demand for laser hybrid welding applications has been constantly increasing in the past years. First systems could already be put into practice by Reis Robotics.

To provide for the idea of a consistent and integrated model, Reis Lasertec developed the new welding optics MWO54-Hybrid. The basis for this optics is the modular welding optics MWO 54 already introduced on the market.

This distinguishes itself by an even more enlarged free aperture. Besides this, all mirrors and optical elements are water cooled and thus designed for highest laser capacities up to 20 kW.

The hybrid welding optics can both be adapted externally to all robot kinematics and to the laser robot RV60-26FT or to the new laser large gantry RLP60-26FT. Both systems are featuring the patented, integrated laser guidance from Reis Robotics.

With this development which is also new, Reis Robotics meets the demands for systems for laser processing of very large components. While these applications used to be reserved for special systems in the past, they now can also be offered by Reis Robotics. The maximum strokes for this gantry system are X=20,0m, Y=4,5m and  Z=1,5m. With these dimensions the Reis gantry system RLP60-xx is the biggest standard system for laser material processing available on the market. The first two gantries are presently being commissioned at the customers’ sites.

During the past years, Reis Robotics also evolved into a supplier of large, interlinked automation solutions. Doing so, Reis benefits from years of experience in the construction of complex automation solutions like e. g. in the photovoltaic industry.

Besides the robot systems for laser processing, e. g. fully automated component supplies, shelf systems and the connection to superimposed MES systems are also offered.

Thus, Reis Robotics offers various customized solutions in the field of laser material processing, from the stand-alone system with one robot up to the interlinked, fully automated large system.
