The new LMFB modules monitor the connection status and confirm if a connector is completely connected. This function enables remote monitoring of various interfaces from a central control system. These can be Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or other logic level signaling systems. Monitoring the correct connection also ensures increased process reliability. User protection is also optimized by integrating it into a safety circuit to release power transmission.

Last Mate First Break modules are suitable for panel and housing applications in various industrial applications, power electronics, communication, testing, logistics and healthcare industries. Each CombiTac LMFB module consists of a carrier and two contacts with crimp connection for 0.14 – 0.75 mm² conductor (AWG 18 – 26). These contacts are placed in the first and last slot of the 7-position carrier (position 1 and 7). Additionally, empty carrier slots (positions 2 to 6) can be filled with CombiTac direqt Ø 1 mm signal contacts. This creates a multifunctional module that can be used for monitoring and signaling purposes.

The CombiTac direqt modular connector system allows the integration of various connection modules such as power, signal and pneumatic in a single compact frame for panel mount or housing applications. CombiTac direqt achieves up to 10,000 mating cycles and transmits high currents up to 350 A. The connector system has low contact resistance as well as shock and vibration resistance for a long functional life. All components can be assembled manually without the use of tools making commissioning and maintenance fast and easy.

Each product of the CombiTac direqt line can be configured online with the CombiTac configurator. The user can autonomously and without much prior knowledge easily create the required CombiTac, tailored precisely to the user’s needs. Modules, contacts and housings can be selected with a simple click, and the size of the housing is automatically adapted to the configuration. When selecting the monitoring module, the configurator automatically places it in the correct position. For proper functionality, frame sizes 2 to 4 use two Last Mate First Break modules placed at opposite edge positions. Size 1 frames require only one Last Mate First Break module, which can be placed in any position.

Benefits at a glance:

  • Monitoring many interfaces via a central control system
  • Process reliability and user protection due to fault-free connection of the power
  • Economical and ease of maintenance through tool-free mounting
  • Durable solutions for applications over 10,000 mating cycles
  • Reliable contact system with shock and vibration resistance
  • MULTILAM technology for low contact resistance
