New software solutions, further developments of components and optimized solutions for mobile applicants are all being presented by Baumüller at this year’s SPS/IPC/DRIVES. Baumüller presented its efficient automation solutions, which can be flexibly adapted to the requirements of each application and meet even the most stringent user-friendliness requirements, at Stand 560 in Hall 1 from 26th until 28th November under the motto “Simply efficient – simply yours”.

Extended software library
When it comes to engineering, Baumüller pays particular attention to cost efficiency and time savings in order to meet the ever-increasing requirements for a short time-to-market. With its extended software module kit, this Nuremberg company now provides even more pre-programmed technology modules, thus resulting in time savings when it comes to both development and commissioning. This comprehensive kit can be used to implement anything from simple movements such as flying cuts or winders to numerous complex functions such as servo pumps, servo presses or coordinated motion for free movement of 360 degrees, simply and efficiently. Depending on the requirements, the mechanical engineer can incorporate the functions he requires as individual building blocks or as entire building block libraries, using the Promaster Engineering Framework.

Compact innovation
With the decentralized drive concept b maXX 2500 Baumüller presented at the SPS/IPC/DRIVES fair a robust, flexible, economical and particularly compact combination of the proven b maXX converters and the servo motors of the DSD, DSP and DSC series a. The new drive will be available with outputs up to approximately 6.5 kW and with nominal torque of up to 20 Nm, thus rendering it suitable for numerous industries such as the packaging, textile or logistics industry or for use as an auxiliary drive.
Fair visitors were also granted the opportunity to discover the wide range of control solutions offered by the company – from embedded systems to safety controls and web-based concepts, along with a number of motors and converters.

Baumüller’s idea of efficiency not only pertains to the cost and time factors. Under the slogan “Efficiency in motion” the company also promotes efficiency from an environmental point of view. This is where visitors found out everything about the mobile applications of Baumüller solutions. When it comes to hybrid ship drives, the company provides expertise and suitable components for inland waterway crafts, tugboats and yachts. For this industry, the company offers torque motors with an output ranging from 10 to 300 kW and nominal speeds between 100 and 1500 min-1, with suitable controls, controllers and converters. As far as mobile applications are concerned, Baumüller provides a wide range of disc motors and the powerMELA® drive, which was developed in cooperation with Sensortechnik Wiedemann GmbH. An innovation for mobile use is the b maXX mobil, which can be combined for example with the Baumüller DSM disc motors and a gearbox to serve as a complete solution for auxiliary drives.
